The master passed on his passion for metal, and Thomas joined the great adventure of the Compagnons du devoir, completing a 7-year Tour de France. Finally, in the spirit of Compagnonnage, he gave his time to training young metalwork apprentices at the Maison des Compagnons in Marseille, before devoting himself to his personal project of setting up Atelier SL with Nicolas.
Fascinated by joinery from an early age, Nicolas joined the Compagnons du devoir as an apprentice after secondary school. He began his apprenticeship in carpentry, where he learnt the techniques involved. His career took a new turn when he met Anne De Bataille. Anne De Bataille, a decorator and former student of the Ecole Boulle, passed on her passion for her craft to Nicolas, who soon afterwards enrolled at the famous school.
There he learned about project management and site management. On his return to France, he joined the Casamanara interior design agency in Monaco, where he conceived, designed and managed projects for some of Monte Carlo's most famous families, before returning to his native Biot, where he set up his own studio with Thomas.
