Nov 6, PM in response to Wayne Henderson. Best export settings for iMovie? Sign in. Sign in Sign in corporate. User level: Level 3. Anything better than "share to large"? I've used Share to Large to the media browser with success, but I was hoping for something that might give higher quality, even if that comes at the expense of time and disk space.
The "Large" file is highly compressed, and I think most of the quality loss I see overall in going from my DV footage to the final DVD, occurs in the export from iMovie. Anything else worth trying? Show more Less. Loading page content.
User level: Level 6. Only problem is that apple stopped offering iM6 as a free download on their web site months ago. Not sure why. Still, you might be able to find it somewhere on the internet but not directly from apple. But that involves much more money than consumer apps. Not to mention a rather steep learning curve. Now I'm just trying to make the most out of my already-finished iM projects. I've considered de-interlacing all the original dv clips, thereby "forcing" iM to use progressive. I hear this might yield a better finished product. But that would require re-analyzing all clips for stabilization and I think that would wipe out all of my stabilization settings. In addition to being a pain, that might cause a bigger loss of overall viewing quality than I would gain from the de-interlacing.
