I am especially interested moments when our identities as platform users intersect with more traditional categories like age, language, gender, race, nation, faith, class, ability, and so forth. Much of my work examines how personal and social notions of meaning, trust, risk, and care have been impacted by networked visual technologies, such as photo editing; meme creation; video sharing; machine vision; and algorithmic profiling.
