The traffic for the site remains pretty high but haven't gotten a lot of new stuff the past year. It's going to take a while because Hopefully this new endeavor will not lead to a divorce. If you have dates, flyers from this era, please send them my way via jermilks gmail. To be clear, there were likely local punk shows that took place before this, and I intend to include them as soon as I can discover the relevant info.
This is where you come in. This list is just a start. I need as much info as I can get: band names, dates, venues, posters, pictures… anything related to this era I am particularly looking for dates for The Rotters Club circa late 70's and 5 Arlington shows I can be reached at jermilks gmail. While I may just take your word for it that a show on a certain date happened, I would love it even more if there was some proof a poster ideally , or an anecdote that can give some context and a sense of place and time.
Right now this is just a plain list. I would like to make it so each listed show has a separate page which can contain pics, posters, stories etc about that particular show some shows are hyperlinked to other websites, such as the No Cause For Concern zine webpage , a vital source for this list, or YouTube clips of the show itself. I put extra focus on shows with all-local bands.
Yet those are the hardest to find relevant info on. Why Stop at ? Also because there is better documentation online for shows after this point. I felt that the early days needed more attention and 25 years is a nice limiting number to make this feasible. I remember some punk talking to his friends between sets about how much the Clash sold-out in their later days. Just shows you what I know about punk. Probably nothing. Of Note: I included important shows which I either have no proper date or venue.
If I could nail down the year, I kept it in, in hopes that somewhere down the line, someone could fill in those gaps. Also you will notice a lot of missing opening bands.
