Following the 7 weeks of learning and relationship building, a graduation ceremony in front of City Council celebrates your achievement as an official MAP Leader! Embrace the role by keeping the community informed, providing resources, and being a leader in various aspects of your life. The MAP Adult Leadership Academy was established to enlighten residents about city government operations, impart leadership skills, and offer resources for active community involvement. Held annually, the academy equips graduates with a strong knowledge base to kickstart their community endeavors.
Numerous MAP leaders have served or are currently serving in roles across neighborhoods, organizations, boards and commissions, and even the City Council. With over graduated leaders, you have the opportunity to join them and contribute to the positive change. Will you be our next MAP Leader?
The MAP Youth Leadership Academy, open to grades , offers a chance to acquire education, skills, and resources essential for leadership. Taking the first step towards exceptional leadership involves seizing opportunities to enhance oneself, positively influencing others, and making a difference in the community! This free program, running annually from September-October for seven consecutive Wednesdays, encourages youth to step out of their comfort zones. Activities include public speaking, understanding local government, leadership development, resume building, mock interviews, and more.
