Late one night, I was reading in bed. My husband was fast asleep, and our cat was sleeping on my legs. At one point, my husband rolled over onto his stomach and shuffled around in his sleep, bopping me in the side of the head with his elbow. Our cat, however, snapped her head up and stared at us both, wide-eyed, looking back and forth. Then, she put her ears back, walked up to my sleeping husband, reached out hesitantly, and very lightly swatted at the side of his face before running away.
I live next to the parking lot of a small shopping centre. If you look out of my window, you see a sidewalk and parking spaces. People always say it must be very noisy, but we hardly hear anything good sound isolation. That happens sometimes; the house may be isolated well, but we do sometimes hear the outside world.
He needs to be in the window, now! We have two cats, but only one can be picked up. And I trust my wife fully, so I grab the cat and hurry it to the window. Outside, I see a little girl, my guess is three or years old, pulling their parent with a — to me — whiny tone.
The girl spots the cat, points happily, waves… and leaves. She pointed at our window, so I just guessed she was talking about our cat. The child braved terrible weather and their parent… just to wave at my cat.
I picked up a very early shift yesterday, and my husband drove me so he could use the car. Neither of us was completely awake as we got ready. When we arrived, I got him breakfast as a thank-you. I ended up writing notes for a roleplaying game I am running — on scrap paper. Therefore, I had to ease my husband into dealing with them. Your family tree would be closer to a fish than the rest of us.
