More films. Sub-zero temperatures, icy lanes. Back to PT. Panda Prop progress. Good walks. Yellow garden furniture. Family treat at The Angel, Abergavenny. On Tuesday morning it was down to the gym for my first PT session for yonks. Good to be back at it. The sleet showers were more frequent than forecast, and put paid to my walking plans.
Helicopters busy. Temperatures continued to drop overnight and we woke on Wednesday to frost and icy roads. I drove to the garage unscathed to drop off the Panda for RW to take a look at the prop shaft and walked home over the Common, also unscathed, although the lanes through Abbey Dore were covered in thick ice where the water runs down to the River Dore.
Very dusty! They got that done in the morning and are coming back next week to put up membrane to keep the damp out, plus insulated plasterboard. Getting the two old bedrooms repainted has turned into a much bigger project than originally planned β and is taking a lot longer accordingly. The landing has been home to the more moveable contents from both those old bedrooms since early October. But β all being well β by this time next month the rooms will be sporting white insulated walls and rejuvenated wooden floors.
And we moved our Eurostar train tickets to May to have a minibreak in warmer weather. Thursday morning was another cold start β a gorgeous sunny day but bitterly cold out of the sun. Met up with T for a bit of a walk β avoiding the icier stretches on the lanes β and a catch up. Back to base to do a bit of gritting. Another very cold night and a frosty morning on Friday. The Panda dashboard reckoned it was -3C!
It certainly took longer to deice the carβ¦.. Cloudy skies made for a cold day and the ground stayed frozen solid. On the plus side, we picked up the rejuvenated garden furniture from Hereford Coatings in Wormbridge. Poured boiling water into the font to unfreeze the bird bath water, and put out some of the soft apples from the apple racks before lunch, then ticked off a whole load of To Dos including booking a hotel in Paris for our May Minibreak.
