I am a native of Pocatello spending most of my life here. I attended Highland High School before receiving a B. I began my career as a therapist working with adolescents struggling with addictions and their families prior to focusing more on mental health counseling. I have worked as a therapist for over ten years and have enjoyed assisting others in reaching their goals and improving their lives.
I have an advanced certificate in Adlerian studies through the Idaho Society of Individual Psychology and I use these techniques in working with my clients. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy and have seen this technique work very well with individuals struggling with past trauma and PTSD. When not in my office I like being outdoors and spending time with my wife and children and riding my Harley.
Jenny graduated from Idaho State University with a masters degree in counseling. She has experience working with people of all ages with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, and post traumatic stress disorder.
Jenny has worked extensively with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, Her theoretical background is relational-cultural theory, which means that she believes healing happens in safe relationships that allow people to be who they are. This includes acknowledgment and acceptance of cultural identities such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, ability, age, socioeconomic status, and other identities. Jenny combines this theory with a trauma-focused model that addresses the impact of trauma on both the brain and body.
She has been honored to work alongside some of the bravest people she has met who are doing the hard work of healing and choosing to live more authentic lives. Her clients have been some of her greatest teachers. Jenny has an intense curiosity about humanity and loves to learn through traveling, reading, and writing.
