Under limited supervision, the instructor is responsible for teaching ESL courses focusing on life and work to students enrolled in Kirkwood's Secondary Programs. Instruction will take place online via Zoom, though there might be opportunities to teach in Coralville, Cedar Rapids, or Washington if there are openings at those locations. The instructor also assists students in transitioning from ESL courses to Kirkwood related work training and higher education opportunities in collaboration with other Kirkwood staff.
Classes are held Monday through Thursday for two hours each day. Classes in the next Program Year will start on July 7. The ideal starting date for this position is by February 24 to allow time for onboarding and observing classes before the current session ends.
