Doll by Marijke Smekens from The Netherlands. Klaartje, the little humblebee girl. The name of my doll is Rafaella Simone. She is an original pattern designed by me for this challenge. She is 24" from head to toe. Her arms are jointed but her legs fixed to sit.
She is around 10 months old and I've posed her with her favorite stuffed animal, a little Pug that she is holding close to her because she is not happy at the moment. Her little outfit was purchased but then reworked and embellished by me to fit my concept of what I wanted her to wear. She does not want shoes or socks right now.
Steampunk Sam Doll by Christine Chumley from Katy, Tx. This is Steampunk Sam. He was made from the pattern Steampunk Baby by Frowning Francis. I didn't gesso and paint him, I just used a flesh toned fabric.
I also button jointed the limbs instead of sewing them on. Other than that, everything is by the pattern's instruction. Except the propeller which is made from stiff paper and painted. Sam dreams of flying. You are witnessing his first attempt to fulfill his dream. I think he can do it She is a soft cloth doll and is 44 cm 17 inch tall. Her skin is made of craftvelour, her blonde hair from faux fur. Eyes and mouth are embroidered.
