Henderson was stripped of the captaincy shortly before Thursday's Europa League win over Galatasaray. Ajax are reportedly furious the former England midfielder is pressing to join Monaco on a free transfer.
The year-old is under contract with the Dutch giants until - after they rescued him from an unhappy six months with Saudi side Al-Ettifaq. Henderson was listed as skipper but Ajax instead handed the armband to year-old keeper Remko Pasveer - famous for saving FIVE shootout penalties against Panathinaikos last August. And the Dutch Telegraaf suggest the dispute with the ex- Sunderland star is running deep.
They reckon Henderson is ready to make it clear he doesn't want to play for Ajax any more - if his move to French top-flight side Monaco is blocked.
Henderson has regularly voiced his gratitude for the club signing him in January after he failed to settle in the Middle East. And although there have been question marks over his form as well as fitness at times, he appeared to be thriving on the pitch this term.
