The play, originally commissioned by Jeff Daniels in for his own small town Michigan theater company, is set in a southwestern Missouri rural community at a time not specifically named.

Two of St. Courtney Bailey is arguably the most talented playwright in St. Louis creating new works. Satterfield is a playwright who has a knack for writing mysterious stories with unexpected twists.
Fifteen Dogs was adapted for the stage and directed by Marie Farsi. In approaching the stage adaptation, Farsi discovered that the narrative was delivered in a fashion akin to epic poems like Homer's The Odyssey, quite befitting the two scheming Olympians as the puppet masters of this story. Denise Fennell is just a delight in this role, and she plays off the audience so well that you would swear Sister is a real person. She can handle anyone, anytime, and mine every audience for comedic gold.
