The restaurant, which is part of the hotel, is also impressive - not just the daily kitchen and a little smaller and special choice, but the better for it. The hotel is very good, so that the city centre of Freiburg is walking very well to reach. If you have a light sleep, I would recommend to ask for a room that is not directly on the crossing. Price-performance very fair. My stay at Central Hotel Freiburg was extremely pleasant, the rooms are clean and all staff are very friendly and helpful, starting from the receptionists at the desk who always welcome you with a big smile, up to the waiters at the restaurant and the generator, who was very kind during my late night check out.
Central Hotel Freiburg, you make your guests feel like staying home, and there is noting better you can do. Usually, we use Airbnb and avoid traditional hotels and this is the perfect example why.
We had to book one day in advance on short notice and the price was roughly euro excluding parking, breakfast or air conditioning. Parking cannot be reserved, but is first come, first serve. Apparently good for those who check in prior to 6pm, bad for us. The hotel could use some modernization, the style is quite old, outdated decoration and presentation. The staff at the reception was quite nice. We threw our stuff in the room and went out for dinner. We came back around 11pm and just wanted to sleep.
Lucky us, the fan did not work properly but did horrible noises. And we found hairs on our bed. We complained the next morning during check out. By the way the two other guests checking out complained about different stuff as well.
