Sugaring is safe during pregnancy, gentle on sensitive areas and sensitive skin. Hard wax can break a lot of hairs off, causing ingrowns because it only attaches to the exposed hair. Wax contains chemicals, Sugar is all natural. Wax can adhere to live skin cells.
Sugar paste provides a light peeling, removing the keratinised skin particles which adhere to the paste natural exfoliant — enjoy smooth skin for weeks. Water — acts like a glue, disolving some of the sugar and making it sticky enough to grasp onto unwanted hairs.
The sugar paste is pliable when warm and as you drag it over the hair it traps it inside the sticky paste. The angle and energy of the flick pulls the full hair out of the follicle, in-tact. Your hair should be the length of a grain of rice about 2 weeks growth.
Do not moisturise or apply any oils to skin the day of your sugar session. Your hair needs to be longer than stubble and slightly shorter than full-length… As a rule of thumb, we suggest booking a session when your hair is about the length of a grain of rice about mm long or weeks after your last session.
If your hair is too short, the Sugar Paste may not be able to grab onto it. If your hair is too long, we can trim it in-studio. Any sort of hair removal can be painful depending on your skin condition and technique of the person administering the procedure. Body sensitivity and individual pain tolerance are different for everyone. It may be uncomfortable at the start but as you continue treatments body sugaring hair removal become less painful.
