Gabriel, portrayed by Lucas Bravo, is Emily's attractive and complex downstairs neighbor in Emily in Paris. He is a talented chef. Gabriel was born in Brionne, Normandy, into a middle-class family. Because his family owned a farm, he led an ordinary life. In order to pay for his tuition at a Parisian cooking school, his whole family raised money. Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, is the main character of the show. She is a potential marketing executive who moves to Paris to give a French marketing firm an American outlook.
She strives to overcome challenges in her Parisian romantic life, profession, and friendships. Gabriel is thoughtful and kind and finds Emily's actions funny. As a chef, he may be stubborn because he prepares a customer's order according to his preferences rather than what the customer requests. He is a proud man who keeps declining the business loan offered by his girlfriend's mother, which would enable him to purchase the diner where he works.
He is self-sufficient and believes he can manage financial difficulties by himself. He is sometimes a little flirty in casual talks with Emily. Emily and Gabriel were neighbors when they first met, but they instantly became friends.
Although Emily was not aware that Gabriel had a girlfriend named Camille, their flirtatious interactions eventually led to an intimate connection. Gabriel's ex-girlfriend is Camille. They started dating at the start of Season 1 and ended things, but they subsequently got back together.
Despite Gabriel's affection for Emily casting a shadow over their relationship, they are much in love. Gabriel intends to pop the question to Camille after finding out she is expecting, but she pops the question first. Their engagement party becomes an unplanned wedding, but Camille is unable to attend the ceremony. She thinks Emily loves him back and knows he loves her. She ends their relationship at the altar. Gabriel purchased his own Cancel Couture restaurant with Antoine's assistance.
