Community program promotes positive relationships that foster growth and independence in a community setting. In this setting a community member becomes a licensed care provider who opens their home to an individual with a disability.
Community Companion Home Licensees are licensed by the Department of Developmental Services DDS and accept the responsibility for caring for one or two adults with a disability in the licensee's own home. The Licensee helps the individual integrate with their family and the community, teaches the individual to use community resources and services and ensures the person's health and medical needs are met.
