With a record number of people traveling internationally, the dating app revealed a surge in users who utilize a "passport" feature, which allows people to virtually explore the dating scene in a different country or city from where they presently are.
Travelers Departing the United States were looking for love in the City of Light, as Paris was the top city that people would passport to. Throughout , there was a percent increase in using the passport feature in France, which could be from the volume of people who attended the Summer Olympics. The report was generated by internal Tinder data throughout While many travelers may turn to Tinder looking for love, some travel experts say it can be an easy way to meet locals and find suggestions for hidden gems.
In addition to the travel trends, the Tinder report revealed that users were on the lookout for 'nano-ships', or smaller commitments, and were more vocal about the type of match they were seeking out.
