The following is a description of a ministry project of Impact France in collaboration with Hope and Joy — Nimes. Several felt called to response, and in June the first street ministry began and the Nimes association was created in January The teams of these 3 branches travel together the roads of the surrounding areas in converted vehicles, meeting around people across key sites.
They organize times of worship in the vicinity of these sites, and provide young women in prostitution situations with small gifts, cards with verses, bracelets of various colors with words of encouragement, drinks, and distribute dozens of Bibles in Spanish, Romanian, French and Italian. Most importantly, they offer them emotional support during these times as needed as well as through programmed services at certain times of the year.
Volunteers from the 3 branches of Hope and Joy also intervene in 5 brothels every 6 weeks on the Spanish border, serving people with a greater potential for outreach, where chaplaincy services are provided. This dedicated team of volunteers needs financial support to be able to continue to finance their ministry outings, especially on the Spanish border, and extend these activities by additional outings to other sites.
