I began my career at the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch in Billings, Montana as a psychotherapist for severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents in the Intensive Care Unit where I provided individual, group, and family therapy.
I have been in private practice since I contracted with South Central Treatment Associates for several years providing treatment for sexual offenders, victims of sexual abuse, and sexually reactive children.
In , I opened and manage Yellowstone Counseling Center. I continue to specialize in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, eating disorders, victims of sexual abuse, stress management, domestic violence, grief and loss, family, and parenting issues. I am certified in EMDR. I have presented on numerous topics of sexual abuse, sexually reactive children, children in foster care, mental illness in the classroom, anxiety, bullying amongst elderly, and stress management in the work force.
I believe that we are constantly striving to reach our true potential, and that when we are loved, valued and accepted for who we are, we feel safe and motivated to reach that potential. I also believe life's obstacles can sometimes prevent us from reaching our goals and that guidance, along with security and empathy, is the catalyst for emotional healing and growth.
