Alan H. Ratcliff, age 63, of New Carlisle, passed away peacefully on October 21, , in the arms of his loving wife, Christine, after his battle with Cancer. In his younger years, he grew up in Ballston Lake, New York.
Alan served his country proudly by serving in the United States Air Force. He was a proud member of the Adirondack 46ers, and his love of nature could also be seen from how he enjoyed flying kites especially on the beach , to gazing upon rainbows and sunsets. The outdoors held a special place in his heart. In his free time, he enjoyed hiking, traveling, video poker, geocaching and working on a number of types of logic puzzles. Alan had a very analytical mind but also a wonderful sense of humor.
He was very devoted to those he loved and adored his time spent with his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Pop" and "Pop Pop". Alan was a fighter, a hero to many, and never wanted his Cancer diagnosis to affect those who loved him. He will be greatly missed by the lives he touched.
