The settlement was reached after judge Patrick Garcia approved a temporary restraining order against the owners and landlords of 9 Spa on March 8.
The spa, located at Airway Blvd. An agreed order of settlement was entered in court against the business and owner of 9 Spa, Yao Rong Chen. The lawsuit comes after other landlords in the county have agreed to evict illicit spas from their properties and remain vigilant that similar businesses do not open.
Bernal hopes other business owners and landlords will take proactive measures to ensure their property is not used for illegal purposes. One man said the spa owner's punishment should've been more severe since the allegations included online prostitution. Another man added the business should be closed for taking advantage of women.
